Breachers Art Direction (VR)

Our founder explains his experience Art Directing for, top-selling VR-Shooter, Breachers during his time at Triangle Factory.

The following article is written by Nick Jacops, founder of Studio Delta.

I am very grateful to have been given the trust to lead the art team at Triangle Factory for the production of Breachers. It was an incredibly challenging but rewarding process. As a team we pushed the boundaries of what was possible on mobile VR hardware at the time and we were rewarded by being one of the most popular shooters on the Meta Quest in 2023.

I want to congratulate the entire team for their tireless work to get this title released at such a level of quality within the limited time to produce it.

[Above] The very first trailer that I directed for Breachers. It was incredibly tough to make as I was responsible for the entire art team, including outsourcing, at the time of its production with a tight deadline looming over us. At the time that we were developing the trailer, we did not have any tools developed yet to actually make a proper recording from the game so we had to get an external animator to very rapidly animate all of the characters while I was setting up the shots. The environments were also very much a work in progress at this time so as the shots evolved so did the empty blockout rooms evolve to finished sets for our trailer.

Some screenshots of the game from the store page. Most of the design of the characters and weapons were done by me.

[Above] This is a trailer that was developed for us on behalf of Meta. It was created once the tools for recording were already in a much further state and the game was almost completely finished. We supervised the direction while the production company developed it.
